Aikom has constantly supported Latel-Com: we have helped by sharing skills, supplying products liaising with the vendor, and watching the Vatican Gendarmery project grow and develop.

The current systems, which have all been installed and configured by the LATEL-COM engineers, incorporate 11 sites. These include St Peter’s Square in Vatican City, but also other extraterritorial locations in Rome. Every location is linked via fibre optics with the 24/7 central control room in Vatican City.
With 39 repeaters and over 1,100 portable radios, including ATEX handsets for Fire Services, the systems prioritize safety with emergency buttons and advanced features. TRBOnet PLUS software drives the control room, enabling precise voice dispatch, call recording, messaging, and GPS tracking.
Motorola Solutions’ robust Capacity Max system hosts 20 talk groups, set to expand to over 40. MOTOTRBO Radio Management software allows centralized control, enhancing operational ease.
To extend seamless connectivity, officers carry TLK 100 WAVE PTX Portable Radios, linked via broadband networks. The upcoming MOTOTRBO WAVE PTX Radio Gateway will integrate these users into the Capacity Max system, further elevating efficiency and incident response.
The Motorola Solutions infrastructure connects and grants safety and security for the Vatican Museums’ venues, Pope's personal service security teams - both in the Vatican area and during his travel all around the world - the Vatican and Italian fire and police service teams, and more.
The full project is committed to bridging communication gaps and ensuring safety and operational excellence.
